28/08/2012 – Live Webinar on Motor Control Applications with FPGAs

Many systems require the control of multiple independent motors, often requiring individual microcontrollers for each motor. Microsemi’s SmartFusion cSoCs provide a unique combination of features to efficiently address the system design requirements in such applications. By embedding an ARM Cortex-M3 microcontroller in a high reliability flash-based FPGA along with integrated programmable analog circuitry for motor sensing, SmartFusion cSoCs provide a best-in-class feature set to address the challenges in these applications. Along with SmartFusion cSoCs, Microsemi provides advanced motor control algorithms to address DC brushless, AC brushless and three phase motor control applications. In this Webinar Microsemi will discuss how to use FPGAs in motor control applications to significantly reduce power, system complexity, system footprint and operational cost while improving system reliabilty.

28/08/2012 – Managing the Signal Integrity Challenges in Next Generation Interfaces

All high speed interfaces, both DDR memory and high speed serial links, are on a Moore’s Law driven treadmill of ever higher data rate. For example, DDR memory went from about 1 Gbps in DDR3 to over 2 Gbps in DDR4. USB is evolving from less than 0.5 Gbps in version 2 to 5 Gbps in version 3. And PCIe is transitioning from gen II at 5 Gbps to 8 Gbps in gen III. Signal integrity problems which might be acceptable at one data rate, may cause product failures when the data rate is scaled to the next generation.

30/08/2012 – Don’t Architect a real-time system that can’t scale

As distributed system scale up, so does their integration time and cost. This integration challenge is particularly acute for real-time and intelligent systems: increased connectivity cannot come at the expense of performance, reliability or resource consumption. Adopting an inherently scalable architecture is the secret to agilely and affordably building systems that encompass ever more applications, nodes and real-time data. This webinar will review how you can apply proven integration techniques-such as loose coupling and service orientation-to demanding real-time systems.

05/09/2012 – Secure Transaction Applications from NXP

n this webinar, attendees will learn of NXP’s many solutions for secured transaction applications. They will learn about the different contactless cards and readers and how to choose the right one for their application. They will also learn about 3 different approaches to secured transactions using 3 different NXP ARM Cortex microcontrollers, from the low power LPC11Ux Cortex-M0 USB MCU to Cortex-M3 and M4 based solutions which add vibrant LCD graphics, with or without an on-chip LCD controller.

05/09/2012 – How to capture the hidden value within your engineering data

Customers demanding evermore functionality. Shorter market windows. Compliance demands. It’s more difficult than ever to create products that stand out among the competition, yet are still profitable. Next generation products require next generation development techniques, such as systems engineering, to leverage knowledge and drive innovation earlier in the development process. Most organizations actually have the engineering data required to make this happen, but simply can’t access it or make sense of it due to overwhelming complexity and lack of integrated views.

06/09/2012 – Building Privacy into Apps and Devices

Mobile devices are best defined by their ability to locate users more granularly and provide a new set of services and marketing messages. But, with this new additional capability, ensuring users trust application developers leveraging their location is critical to obtaining mass adoption of these new services. Privacy-by-design is a concept that ensures application developers consider these trust and compliance elements in their applications from the beginning. The regulatory, application platform and consumer awareness landscapes are evolving and ever changing and thus continued understanding of best practices in technology and privacy are essential in staying current with cutting edge products. Please join Carolyn Hodge, CMO at Locaid, and Kevin Trilli, VP of Product at TRUSTe, for this exclusive webinar, aimed at empowering mobile app developers.
